Pros

Unique product range with high value

Cons

International management has no clue on running anything outside the US and it shows. Their business model unfortunately does not move from Texas to Europe and they are still confused why not. They change direction like the wind but when I left the profits had dropped significantly and the customer base was falling away. So what do they do ...... remove their sales force and employ others on the off chance it may be them that's the problem.... .

This is an unprecedented time in Drillinginfo’s international business and an incredible opportunity for those who are up to the challenge. The business has made significant investment in our international operations by putting local leadership and structure in place to drive results and added recent hires to set us up for future growth. With that said, we understand and appreciate that change can be uncomfortable for some and our culture may not be a fit for everyone. However, Drillinginfo is a very positive environment for prospective employees who thrive on challenge and want to be a part of a growth company. Our plans for international growth will continue to include employee and customer feedback and perspective and there is only blue sky ahead.

Pros

If you are in the oil and gas space and want to pivot to a tech role or get some research experience to hop to a fund or investment bank or a tech job then do the job and leave after a year max. Beyond that you are wasting your time for the most part, as there is not a lot of upside.

Cons

The C-suite and senior management seems like they are mostly just on autopilot waiting for their next payout. The leadership team of research isn’t willing to change with the times and turned the place into a grind house with no mentorship or proper progression paths. Not good leaders. Expect to start at a medium salary and then barely move up every year while getting overworked and over stressed. You’ll be told it’s “opportunity”. You can hop over to a decent amount of other jobs but there are no clear off ramps. The people that just show clients how to use the platform (Principal Constants) will get paid more than you for like a third of the effort. So just go do that instead and have a balanced life. Basically if you have any other tech or research role lined up just do that, otherwise use this to go somewhere else in short order.
