Exploitive and unsafe

Pros

You’ll learn to spot red flags when job hunting. The training might be decent, but you’re expected to travel to different locations—on your own dime. And somehow, you’re also supposed to cover your own food expenses while earning minimum wage. That’s laughable. Sure, you get to run your own campaign, and that can feel meaningful. But at what cost?

Cons

If you work here, you’ll have to canvass during the summer—which means knocking on strangers’ doors, some of whom won’t be kind. If you’re okay with being insulted daily, then maybe this is the job for you. There’s no real concern for safety. If something happens while you’re canvassing, they’ll downplay it and offer you one option: quit. You’ll work 70 hours a week with no overtime pay, all for minimum wage. The turnover is through the roof.I’m sure there are better ways to raise money, but they insist on sticking to a 50-year-old marketing plan that involves begging for donations and walking alone for hours in the dark.

Pros

I learned a lot about what red flags to look for when applying to employment opportunities

Cons

The pay is woefully low, they expect too much for how low they pay their employees. They expect their employees to "eat dirt" and treat their employees as dirt
