The people, passion, and mission made this place a fabulous place to work, even for a fraction of the pay. My star ratings are for the current workplace, after January 2025.

Cons

In normal times, the fraction of the pay and some the inefficiencies were the only cons. In 2025, 'cons' took on a whole new meaning.

Work/life balance. Pay. Benefits. Office culture. Sense of mission and pride. Collegiality. Advancement and professional development. I loved this job.

Cons

Long stretches of little work. Long stretches of drowning in work. But that is the norm for government. You will feel bored to tears and then feel overworked. But it's worth it!
