      Pros

      They have a great retirement plan and good benefits plan. The work load is heavy but very doable, your supervisor will always be there to help you along and push you to meet your deadlines.

      Cons

      Not very flexable on time spent out of town. But always understanding for vacation time and paid time off and with most everything else.

      Middle managers actively seek input from working levels Technical competence and innovation are appreciated Work-life balance is excellent Staff is supportive of each other and not overly competitive Good opportunities to meet high-level people in industry

      Limited upward mobility Politics infuses every major decision Crazy rules impede work (document retention, ethics, FOIAs, contracts, etc) You'll always be non-essential
