Benefits of health insurance and the ability to work from home

Cons

Incompetent useless and down right cruel management. Bosses who are no better than school yard bullies

Pros

Overall, the people here are very nice, it's a work hard/play hard place. MOST people are very dedicated to their job and the mission of the agency, and it's a good feeling to know that we're all working together to protect the environment. The pay is good, benefits are good, there's on site child care. The location is safe. Overall I like it here.

Cons

There are a few rotten apples in the bunch. There are a few people who don't care, it's just a paycheck. They come in late, leave early, sleep all day (if they show up at all). Sometimes it's hard for the rest of us to be motivated to work when there is someone snoring in the cube next to you.

Pros

Most people are great to work with and are very dedicated HQ is a wonderful building to commute to and work in There are many opportunities to celebrate diversity through seminar events that are sponsored Interesting speakers for all of the speaking engagements The Administrator is very engaged with the employees

Cons

Tend to tolerate employees with personality issues rather than dealing with these issues head on. This lack of involvement makes it difficult for other employees. Management in my division will not allow a telework day for those on a 4/10 work schedule although this concept has already been embraced in other federal agencies and divisions within EPA. This should not be an individual management decision as the telework policy should be consistent across the board.
