Pros

EPA has great programs for work-life balance, allowing flexible schedules (except where constrained by union rules for some groups of employees), supporting telework (again, as long as the union doesn't preclude or limit it), providing support counseling if needed, etc.

Cons

As with most federal government organizations, EPA tolerates mediocrity and lackadaisical performance of work, with the unions protecting incompetent or lazy workers so that someone who is motivated and capable must have a lot of patience to survive.

Pros

Helping the planet, when they let you

Cons

How can you survive this place without cognitive dissonance? New administration comes in and asks you to undo everything you did the last 8 years.
