Pros

I have worked at Enviva for about a year-and-a-half, and love it! Don’t get me wrong, we work hard, and sometimes that means some late nights or a weekend, but it’s so rewarding to be able to contribute to a fast-growing company that is also doing good for the environment. I enjoy my colleagues, and feel appreciated for my contributions and role. As with most fast-growing companies, there are plenty of processes to fix and areas we can improve, but to me, this means… I won’t get bored and I can help make things better, which are key aspects that keep me engaged in a job. I feel supported by upper management, all of whom are committed to growing the company and improving our operations at the same time. I look forward to continuing to helping the company grow and through that, contributing to the environment as well.

Cons

We work hard, but if you see an opportunity for change or improvement, speak up... questioning whether we're doing things the right way and providing suggestions for improvement are appreciated and valued.

Pros

Location, company provided lunches every Friday, an abundance of snacks...

Cons

Do not let those few sprinkled, well placed reviews fool you. I can guarantee they were placed there by HR (the worst HR department in history). Its a wonder how this company has survived as long as it has. Elitist attitudes behind the glass doors, plenty of people being paid well over 6 figures with NO knowledge of what they're doing, people running departments who've NO experience in that particular arena.... This place is just a big mess. The turnover is the highest I've seen in any company I've worked for, employees are clearly unhappy, there's no work life balance - you're expected to respond even when on vacation (you would think they know that violates work labor laws, but then again no one knows what they're doing here) and please don't think your education and past experience matters here because it doesn't..... Just run and run in the opposite direction FAST! Obviously the Board Members don't care about the survival of this company because, if they did, one would think they would've made MAJOR changes a long time ago!

Pros

There are four people above me in the organizational structure and I can think of powerful, concrete examples where all four of them went above and beyond to unselfishly help me – professionally and personally. Moreover, there are others outside of my reporting chain and department that have contributed to my development. It’s a good place to grow, acquire responsibility, and help make an impact on the environment at the same time.

Cons

Technology and processes are lagging for what you’d expect at a company this size. With that said, Enviva is working to improve these aspects, which are probably on par with or better than those at companies who also got first significant revenue in ~2011.
