Pros

+ Excellent benefits + Really cool people to work with + Projects are exciting, if stressful

Cons

- Project/Product Management isn't consistent across teams, making it really hard to collaborate between the tech teams. There's no real top-down facilitation of Scrum or other SLCD - As you probably are aware, the company has had multiple layoffs. Job security is in flux

Pros

5 years after starting and I'm still shocked by how good the pay and benefits are. Seemed top tier and I felt absolutely spoiled every day. Both my leads were also top tier and very classy. Everyone I personally worked with was very supportive and kind and professional, and always willing to chip in to help you out. Your mileage may vary in different departments. Epic always has changing plans, so if you like chaos and high stakes everything, you might enjoy it.

Cons

2017-2022 momentum was off the charts and very exciting. But leadership has tried to double down on some of that momentum and it has felt messy rather than cohesive. Plans are changing constantly. Re-orgs happen once or twice a year. Everything relies on Fortnite's success, for better or worse.

Pros

1. Relevance: Most people have a chance to work on things that will be seen by millions of people. 2. Talented People: There are a lot of talented people that you'll get to work with. 3. Things Move Fast: Don't get stuck overthinking what-ifs, instead there's a strong bias for building stuff and trying it out.

Cons

1. Relentless Pace: Fortnite players expect a lot of new stuff every year so there's seldom time to really catch your breath before you're on to the next challenge. 2. Short deadlines: VPs can say something publicly that leads to a mountain of work that needs to be delivered in a timeline that necessitates crunch.
