Good pay, demanding work

Pros

Pay is good. People are given real responsibility immediately and opportunities to advance within the company are ample.

Cons

They really really want you to think that your job matters and that they're doing good in the world. But your job doesn't matter and they're not doing good. They're making money by driving up the price of health care and that gorgeous disneyland campus is being paid for by people's insurance premiums. If you're not into that, you'll have a hard time fitting into the culture.

Pros

Good pay for fresh young grads, perks that come with traveling (miles, hotel points, nice meals), really cool campus, great food, young culture.

Cons

You better fit the mold or you leave. Highly political due to its "horizontal structure," feedback system that's used for any movement throughout the company, and lack of clear organizational process. You submit feedback for Epic into what feels like a void. You don't really have a voice or a choice in your work unless you have gained seniority. People are motivated to compete for the spotlight rather than collaborate due to feedback system. The performance norms are ridiculous- if you don't put in an extraordinary number of hours, you are seen as a slacker.
