Pros

Competitive pay and working at Epic will open your eyes into the world of healthcare IT. The industry as a whole has several opportunities for growth an a stable career,

Cons

Quality of life/work-life balance is heavily dependent on what application and projects you are assigned to. Many people work an average of 45-50 hours per week in implementation, with most IS traveling for ~4 days each month. Deadlines and expectations with projects can get escalated quick and you end up staying late or coming in early to meet the demands of your leadership or your customer. Unfortunately working beyond 40 hours to meet deadlines is the norm not the exception.
