Pros

- You’ll learn a ton - mostly because you’re doing the work of three people. Who needs boundaries when you can have “growth,” right? - Super diverse environment, thanks to the endless cycle of international hires who need sponsorship. Turns out survival trauma really brings people together. - You get very close to your peers because you’re all experiencing the same delightful cocktail of stress, burnout, and “figure it out yourself.” Trauma bonding at its finest. - Snacks in the office - because when you’re required to be onsite five days a week, you might as well have something to crunch on while drowning in work. - Free food during quarter-end, but only because there’s absolutely no time to get your own. Nothing says “we value you” like dinner at 10 p.m. while you’re still working.

Cons

- The workload is flat-out ridiculous. People aren’t treated like humans - they’re more like hardware that leadership expects to run 24/7 without updates or maintenance. - Senior employees have mostly been here since they graduated college, so they genuinely think this toxic environment is normal. And of course, they enforce it like it’s a sacred tradition. - Compensation is laughable compared to the workload. During raise discussions, they somehow always conclude that you just aren’t good enough yet. Gaslighting is practically part of the performance review process. - The industry niche is so narrow that looking at the EM directors is basically looking into your future: 0% life, 100% work. Inspiring, if you’ve always dreamed of becoming a cautionary tale. - Toxicity is fully normalized. They constantly hire fresh grads because it takes a while for people to realize they’re on a slowly sinking ship. And by the time they do, they’re usually already updating their resume.

Pros

1. Diversified. A lot of international young people. 2. Snacks provided.

Cons

1. Culture. Just a reference to other reviews. 2. Low pay. 3. Low motivation since the career trajectory is unclear. This is a consulting firm which doesn't pay commission or hourly fee to employees. 4. Not a place where you can enjoy collaboration. 5. People are smart, but not energized. You will be disappointed if you want to make this place home by seeing cold faces. Understandable because not so many people enjoy their lives and job here. 6. Bad wlb. You might have some free time, but there are not too many things to do in Scottsdale between May and November. Not recommended for people moving here alone since I've seen many cases of mental breakdown.

Pros

While this is strictly my perspective, I know many others at the company agree with these ideas. I get to do very engaging work for the best clients in the business and collaborate with really sharp people on a daily basis. However, as with anything in life, this career path is not for everyone. You will be happy here if: ⦁ You like challenge, variety, and creative problem solving on a regular basis ⦁ You want to learn life skills that stage you for long run success ⦁ You value diversity of ideas, not just demographics ⦁ You enjoy having friends at work not just coworkers ⦁ You don’t like politics and bureaucracy ⦁ You want your voice to be heard but also are willing to learn from others ⦁ You want to live in AZ (for at least the first few years)

Cons

You will not enjoy working at Equity Methods if: ⦁ You do not enjoy analytical and technical work (including programming) ⦁ You prefer a narrowly defined job with lots of structure ⦁ You want to work from home permanently ⦁ You feel the ideal job is super comfortable/predictable ⦁ You don't enjoy working with multiple clients/projects simultaneously
