The corporate management is the best thing about working at Equity

I have worked at properties that were short staffed, having a hard time or just needed someone to fill in. By staying committed to making each place better, you can really make the most out of working at equity. My regional manager has also had my back and makes sure I have everything I need to live this job. I have plans to move to New York and the corporate teams will be the part I miss from D.C. The most when I do

Cons

We don't get the day before thanksgiving or Christmas Eve off. We do have floating holidays to use for those days but the office is still open so not everyone can request off for them. It's a great business decision because so many people have the time off from work and can tour. But it isn't so great if you have many people who came from different states and need to travel home for the holidays on the same teams.

We also appreciate your constructive feedback regarding holiday staffing and corporate career opportunities. As you referenced, the nature of our business makes closing property offices for more than a day very challenging; a commitment to a non-traditional schedule in order to serve our residents year-round comes with the territory of working in this industry. We encourage employees to work together to strategize sufficient coverage and to fairly distribute holiday shifts among themselves, pulling from sister sites as needed if there are co-workers who do not observe certain holidays and/or who do not have travel plans. Regarding the availability of corporate positions, we continue to evaluate and adjust each department’s structure as business needs change. There's plenty of opportunity to move up within the company, coworkers are like family, the company itself is amazing, and growing at that! Was definitely new to the field, and enjoy it very much. My position has taught me so much within the last 6 months, and I'm excited to see where this takes me :)

Cons

So far, it's been great. There are definitely some residents out there that make some days tougher than others, but it's nothing you wouldn't be able to handle.

Pros

Overall this company has been really good to me. I came in as part of a buyout and it has been a great experience. Equity has fair pay, great benefits, and a overall good culture.

Cons

I would not say it's so much of a con, but for many people it's difficult to adjust to. At Equity we work really hard and run on the lean side. So at times it can be stressful with the work load, but this culture of work hard is I believe fairly rewarded.
