Pros

You can keep the job as a job not a career.

Cons

They extremely make you work hotter and hotter than any other building in New York City. No promotions for minority people

Pros

I worked at EQR for 8 years. I always knew they were cheap and ruthless. I stayed with them because they were tough and if I could be a top performer at EQR I one day would benefit from the experience.

Cons

EQR ruthlessness carries over to the way they treat their employees, even their top performers.

Pros

Great work life balance. Employee engagement in company events is pretty high. Coworkers seem to get along with one another. With a few specific jobs, career development is highly encouraged. There are many training tools year round to ensure you can do your job which is fair because change is pretty common.

Cons

Pay structure at property level - raises are not really merit based but pay is fair. You can go above and beyond all year and it may not really show much in your annual review/pay increase discussion. As for career opportunities, outside of wanting to become a property manager or service manager, you would have to relocate to a regional location for job opportunities
