SO Much Potential at Equity Trust is Wasted...

Pros

- My Department was a great place to be. My team got along well and it was a great place to collaborate and have fun while working very hard (more on that in a minute). - Enjoyed the work. I really did enjoy what I was doing and thought it was helping move the organization in the right direction with clients and potential customers. - Learned a lot from colleagues and coworkers & felt it was growing into something special. - Nice perks like a beautiful workspace, gym, cafeteria/food service.

Cons

- Higher ups wanted to do everything. There are only so many hours in the day and instead of focusing on doing one or two things really well, we had to do it all. - Some Departments were complete messes, leading to unnecessary turmoil in the entire company. - Lack of vision from leadership who are mostly absent. But their offices sure are nice! - A very top/down organization. Sure, they preach 'we're a team' but your voice doesn't go anywhere. - At least 3 Rounds of Layoffs in 2014 show you they cut bait whenever they have to, so don't expect to stick around if the company is hurting. NOTE the above... This also happened a few years back and I have no doubt will happen again - if the company survives. The Titanic was nice too...

Pros

ETC hires great people. Most of my co-workers were dedicated and willing to help you in any way that they could.

Cons

Employees are not given enough training and yet are expected to process as though they are. There is a high turn over with new Managers and Supervisors who were either new to the company or new to their department who had no idea how that department's processes work and who did not receive training or did not and were unable to sit with the employees to learn how their processes worked. High turn-over of employees and some of the new employees were started at a higher rate of pay than the person training them. Employees who are considered knowledgeable enough to train new employees should be making more than the person they are training to do the same processes. While you are not suppose to disclose your pay it happens. Knowledge and experience within your company should be valued higher than a recent graduate or individual with a background in a different field who will be doing the same job as the person training them.

Toxic Corporation

Pros

There really are no pros to working here. Under the current CEO, most positive things have been taken away.

Cons

You will be treated like a robot instead of a person. The metrics they use for performance will push you to your mental limits and management will just push you harder. You will be "promoted" to "lateral" positions and receive no compensation besides a really low yearly raise if you're lucky. Hard work does not pay off here. Clients are horrible and treat you like garbage. Absolutely DO NOT work in a client facing role. HR has employees put positive reviews on here so please do not trust them. This place is very toxic and has an extremely high turnaround rate. You will not be paid a livable wage. Management is basically the Mean Girls club. And they do not promote for experience and knowledge. If you are a good employee, you'll never move up here. People are regularly seen crying at their desks.
