I'd rather get a root canal than work here

Pros

I can't think of anything. The strong, knowledgable employees have either quit or have been fired

Cons

It is hard to put my feelings in a few sentences. In short, this is a male driven environment. People are told salary raises are not possible because a maternity leave was taken. This place is a social club. The successful people must have dirt on management.

Pros

ETC hires great people. Most of my co-workers were dedicated and willing to help you in any way that they could.

Cons

Employees are not given enough training and yet are expected to process as though they are. There is a high turn over with new Managers and Supervisors who were either new to the company or new to their department who had no idea how that department's processes work and who did not receive training or did not and were unable to sit with the employees to learn how their processes worked. High turn-over of employees and some of the new employees were started at a higher rate of pay than the person training them. Employees who are considered knowledgeable enough to train new employees should be making more than the person they are training to do the same processes. While you are not suppose to disclose your pay it happens. Knowledge and experience within your company should be valued higher than a recent graduate or individual with a background in a different field who will be doing the same job as the person training them.

Pros

None to report. All of the amenities that they highlight are just part of the grand façade. It's just a wall of smoke used to mask the stench of poor employers.

Cons

Ticking time bomb! This company's management cares nothing about its employees. One minute you're safe from being terminated, the next minute you're being escorted out the doors with a box they've conveniently packed full of your things. It doesn't matter how many years of service you provided, you are disposable, regardless. It doesn't matter how many accounts you've opened, investments you've made happen at the last minute, or fees you've collected. You are disposable… Regardless. Your personal issues are not private. Your personnel file is not privileged information, rather, it is shared among those who are considered to be elite. It's not just about building you up to bring you down, it's the entertainment of your fall that they thrive on. In this atmosphere, it really isn't what you know, it's who you know. They report false information and force you to sign their write ups, and may really convince you that you've done something wrong...and they criticize you, and make you question your own competencies… Competencies that they once applauded you for having. When they're done with you, they're done with you. Don't look for a career here, don't even look for a stepping stone, they only like to see you fail.
