Pros

Good pay and benefits. Quiet drive.

Cons

Not worth the pay. Had to take matters in my own hands since management and HR did not consider or have the means to deal with a hostile worker and working environment. Manager lacked experience and knowledge of the department assigned to. Huge lack of respect between certain workers and management. Also some of the programs offered are not to be taken. They do not offer any assistance without huge conditions that were not fully counciled on. Beware. It's sad. Had potential but not worth the economics due to the toxicity leading to soul sucking mental hardships that could lead to councilling. The commute takes up any extra funds you may get from salary.

Good/Bad Depends on Department

Pros

Challenging work, good benefits, great career path, good co-workers, good managers.

Cons

While some managers are foster great working environments, some departments are actually run by lead analysts (who prefer to call themselves supervisors) and can be very ill-mannered. There is some tension between operations and those working with downstream data. The operators who are managing the statewide electrical grid are working under a great deal of pressure and in real time. Consequently, some of the data they push out will be inaccurate. The support departments sometimes do not understand that. And perhaps operations do not understand that the support areas have to deal with clients and the data/billing has to be 100% accurate. Work/life balance could be better.
