      Pros

      The environment at ERCOT is one of the best I've ever worked in. The people are great, always helpful and friendly. ERCOT has a great overall culture and excellent benefits. ERCOT offers a great work/life balance. I would recommend to any of my friends or family. Management is fair and cares about their employees. The pay is good and the stability the job offers is one of a kind.

      Cons

      Honestly, I do not have any negative experiences working at ERCOT. I really only have good things to say.

      Pros

      Flexible hours, plenty of free time due to ridiculous change-control process, cool people for the most part.

      Cons

      Change control, vague and poorly interpreted regulation, top-down project management, terrible inter-team communication, terrible insurance providers, wastes money on applications that never get fully implemented, no technical leadership, vendor lock-in requires maintaining ancient technology.

      Pros

      Good salary and benefits. Real work. making sure that electricity flows 24x7. Good job satisfaction. Good work life balance. No travel. Decent job security if you keep doing your job. They do focus a lot on your physical health. There is a walking trail and they keep reminding you about doing exercises.

      Cons

      Very poor networking opportunity. You are out there in the rural area that it is difficult to network with others. Very operations oriented work that it can get monotonous after sometime.
