Pros

Mission - Working to improve the reliability of the Texas grid and thus ensure the livelihood of our communities is a great reason to go to work in the morning. People - People are smart, curious, and interested in doing work that matters which makes fora decently collaborative work environment. Work environment - Flexible hours, great benefits, encouragement for continuing education, accessible leadership. Pay could be better but most of the benefits close to make up for it.

Cons

Communication - like many companies, communication across different teams and internal organizations is not great, creating information silos. This is an area of improvement that leadership is aware of and working to resolve. Industry knowledge - many folks have not actually worked in industry ( I.e. utilities, engineering consulting, IPPs, etc) and thus establish procedures and rules for the market that in many cases isn’t practical, creates a lot of confusion, and potentially cost companies a lot of money (ie. delayed email/RIOO responses can set projects back months impacting millions of dollars worth of investment). This will be a tough challenge to resolve but as a market participant, is very frustrating. Location - Pretty much nothing in Taylor/Hutto. You’ll have to commute if you want to be near anything interesting
