Pros

The benefits beat those offered at any other company in the DFW area. The European mentality toward health care ensures that you and your family receive care at an out of pocket cost that is less than or equal to any other company in the area. The campus in Plano is top notch and the building is located in a good part of town. There are clear paths to promotion if you know the right people and make some of the right decisions. Working for an international company such as Ericsson affords the possibility for long term assignments in several locales around the globe. Compensation at Ericsson is generally on par, or slightly higher than at other competing organizations.

Cons

Not a slight against the company, but the telecommunications industry is very volatile. You need to be in the top 3% - 5% of employees to ensure job security. When the business is good, all are taken care of. When business slows, it is time to start watching the job boards.

Pros

Strong global brand with deep roots in telecom leadership. Collaborative culture where cross-functional teams work closely across regions. Great exposure to enterprise transformation through 5G, private networks, and cloud solutions. Flexible work environment with opportunities to work remotely and manage global projects. Diverse and inclusive workforce, offering a mix of perspectives and learning opportunities.

Cons

Leadership misalignment with enterprise goals. The current enterprise and private 5G business units are led by individuals with primarily strategy or consulting backgrounds rather than direct enterprise management and sales experience. This has resulted in a lack of commercial execution and limited traction in building a sustainable enterprise business. Sales leadership gaps have slowed down Ericsson’s ability to position itself as a competitive enterprise solutions provider compared to more agile industry peers. The company would benefit from bringing in experienced enterprise GM and sales leaders and hire people with proven track records in scaling business outcomes and building customer-focused organizations.
