Pros

Very smart people with a welcoming culture. Large, international presence - so lots of opportunity to rise/grow. Company is dedicated to helping the world use GIS to improve and make a better planet. Privately owned, so leadership is steady and not subject to the whims of shareholders.

Cons

Pay is only so-so compared to the market for developers. Because it is an older established company, there is some much older legacy code and entanglements that come with the territory.
