Pros

Work-life balance, benefits, the employees, the campus. The ability to move teams to find the right fit.

Cons

Coming from a public company to Esri is a big adjustment. Very standard processes at a public company become a little convoluted with approval processes here.

Pros

- Market leader in GIS related fields. - Expanding company, safe job for the foreseeable future. - Great medical benefits - Good work/life balance. Great benefits and time of for new parents. - Environment among management and employees is friendly and casual.

Cons

- Technology latecomer, rather than innovator. This might prove a great disadvantage in the long run. - Location. - Not many opportunities for career advancement. There are only developers and product engineers and their leads above them. There are (small) salary increases every year, regardless of people's performance. - Most innovative projects are shot down in reviews as (supposedly) irrelevant with the company's business.

Great place to work, you will need to find your path here

Pros

-Great people - always willing to help, tend to be very friendly -Best GIS technology - leading the field -Relaxed culture - casual atmosphere makes most things easier -Very little hierarchy in most divisions -Incredible benefits -Good pay - you won't get filthy rich, but you will be fairly compensated

Cons

Its still a group of people. There is some politics, but not too much. Sometimes the technical direction seems to shift before settling onto a clear path. Not all groups are fully connected. You will need to find your own career here, but the good news is you can move around inside the company
