Pros

Great opportunities to pursue your dreams in geography and as a professional. One of the best environments for a geographer to grow.

Cons

Non commission and hourly positions for everyone, which may or may not be an advantage to some. Sales environment is unique, and many teams do not understand each others ultimate goals.

Pros

working for Esri you can make a difference helping to solve environmental and social problems; opportunities to move laterally within the organization, which is great for experimentation; great people who really care about what they are doing; flexible, casual work environment; opportunity to travel the world

Cons

is a traditional, organic, tech company so don't expect 'silicon valley' ups and downs
