Pros

Good pay, good discounts in employee store. Overall good short term opportunity.

Cons

-Too many steps to get anything approved, upper management constantly pushing approvals to the last minute, then change their minds on established designs sometimes well into the production process forcing designers to work overtime to meet deadlines. -Management is technically skilled but severely lacks good communication and other soft skills. Management not upfront with expectations and failed to give clear feedback and direction, very disorganized work environment. -Heavy corporate hierarchy - lots of inflated egos and fake titles to make people feel more important. -No culture, no boundaries, unnecessarily rude comments. Department sometimes feels like they operate as individuals in competition with each other rather than a team. -Technology is archaic, nothing works. Constant tech issues out of my control that prevented work being completed effectively. -Not a lot of room for growth.

Pros

Benefits are amazing, holidays off are amazing , the actual company's initiatives are amazing

Cons

Leadership is horrible. They are racist, do not know how to communicate to employees. They pick and choose favorites like most jobs but they really try and drown out the people they do not like in work and horrible leadership. Make up excuses to penalize employees who they dont like while they let the ones they do like get away with far worse things. Its just horrible, there is no real training in set everyone just figures it out. The department is just failing and people are unhappy with their jobs and support

Pros

Great midtown location with access to Central Park. Decent benefits (health/dental/401k), though compensation is very inconsistent. Very generous product discount on all ELC brands (MAC, Smashbox, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, etc.)

Cons

If you're seeking the adult version of Mean Girls and high school cliques, this is the place for you. Unprofessional doesn't begin to describe the culture that exists at this company. Bullying and hazing go unchecked and anyone with a modicum of intelligence is ostracized. Those who network in through family connections fare very well and "fail up" to senior positions. Very high turnover in many areas due to browbeating and low morale.
