Pros
The work was not usually very strenuous and the hourly goals weren't difficult to meet. There were no benefits but they paid well and gave bonuses, even for part time.
Cons
It was an open dock, so you were subject to the outside weather. The computer equipment on the forklifts was in dire need of maintenance and upgrades. Two or three of the dockworkers simply couldn't scan packages as they were processed due to faulty equipment- this was a nightly ordeal. Many people would get to work early to find a forklift that worked properly.
