I was promised creative freedom as a visual merchandiser, but what I received was quite the opposite. I constantly was having to justify decisions I was making to my boss during floor moves, having him change the work I had already done. Also, floor moves were a nightmare. Ethan Allen never equipped me with safety videos, which shocks me considering how I was expected to move furniture from one part of the store to the other. I also never received my 30 day, 90 day, and one year review, so I was never told about ways I was succeeding at my job, and ways I needed to improve. Also, when I would bring up my future with the company, and a chance at growth through promotion down the line, the conversation was quickly brushed off. Rarely was there ever a thank you, or any signs of appreciation from my superiors. Also, coworkers and upper management did nothing but complain. No one, no matter their position, was always complaining about their job, boss, client, etc. Such a toxic environment. Ultimately, this all has led me to leave this company. This has by far been the worst work environment, and I would never recommend this company as a suggestion to someone as a place of employment.
