So much potential ruined by offshoring

Pros

Remote work Super talented colleagues Decent pay In partnership with some long standing, well respected Insurance companies I'd work at Ethos again in the future if they would keep their larger footprint in the US.

Cons

Unstable - 4 rounds of layoffs in less than 2 years IT/Dev Ops is a mess, each team is in a silo so left hand doesn't know what right hand is doing. Will be made worse by going offshore. Zero upward mobility, nothing to promote to unless you want to relocate to India. Sr Managers that would be lucky to be Supervisors at established companies

Wolf in sheep's clothing

Pros

A young company that really has no idea what it's doing, so theoretically you could have a lot of impact.

Cons

Ethos' upper management talks a good game about culture and putting people first, but it's all a lie. The brain drain from many of the earlier employees who built the company has been extreme over the past year. And they will let people go at the earliest sign of financial stress, or just because their manager doesn't like them. Frankly I've never been treated as badly as I was at Ethos.

The 5 Star Reviews ARE A LIE

Pros

Good compensation for the role.

Cons

They are literally firing everyone domestically and offshoring the entire operations. This Company is a sinking ship and losing money fast. Anyone with a brain can see the flaw in their service. They have to clawback all revenues within a 12-month period to carriers whenever a policy is canceled by the end consumer. What could possibly go wrong during times of peak inflation and economic turmoil? You will have ZERO job security with this Company and how they are not bankrupt yet is beyond me.
