Good compensation but terrible management and job security

Pros

The compensation is good is far, autonomy to go about your day as you need

Cons

Only accept an offer here if you have the financial stability to work for 4 months and suddenly get laid off. Without a single 1:1, feedback, or any coaching, not even an opportunity to get put on a PIP. Management/ CEO/HR are terrible. There is zero transparency. I would highly caution you to join the sales team. It’s the worst experience at a tech company I’ve ever had and they genuinely destroyed my livelyhood with one single 2 minute HR meeting. Again, in 4 months I did not have a single 1:1 meeting with my manager to answer / ask questions / provide feedback / help and then to get laid off with no explanation? Terrible values.

Pros

Strong leadership team that truly knows what they’re doing. They actively step in to remove roadblocks, provide support, and encourage ownership from day one. Compensation is competitive, and there’s a strong sense of collaboration across the team—even in a largely remote environment. Team offsites are a great bonus. It’s exciting to be part of a high-growth company, especially seeing its success and momentum as a unicorn. The pace is fast, which keeps things engaging and dynamic. Strong mission driven culture, and the product helps real people dealing with serious injuries which makes my work meaningful. The outlook of the company over the next few years looks fantastic.

Cons

Nothing significant comes to mind at this point. That said, this is a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment. If you thrive in that kind of setting, you’ll do very well here. If you prefer a more structured, predictable environment where you can log in, complete your work, and log off, a larger, more traditional company might be a better fit. I have a family and am still able to maintain work-life balance, but there are definitely times when you need to lean in during key pushes. It works well for me, but it’s important to know your preference going in.

Pros

Everyone here is very smart, hardworking, and ambitious. There are some amazing people who work at this company who are truly passionate about the work they do here. Pay is fair / market. Lots of opportunity to gain more responsibility.

Cons

Culture is very challenging here - stemming from an inherent lack of trust and communication from top down that results in micro-managing and unclear expectations that constantly shift making it challenging to succeed. There are strong opinions at the top and these are communicated in a way that is disrespectful and off-putting. It feels like certain things are being managed for short-term outcomes rather than long-term success of the company. These are problems that exist throughout the entire company (some departments are better than others). Turnover is extremely high across the board with many short tenures. Many employees here are unhappy, but leadership doesn't prioritize making any real changes to improve sentiment.
