Pros

Eventbrite is a great place to sharpen your skills, lead high-impact projects, and work with some incredibly smart and kind people. If you're proactive and data-driven, you can move mountains here - if you are lucky to have a good manager or if you are in the right team. The hybrid/remote flexibility is a big plus. Teams are usually focused on outcomes, not vanity metrics. The perks are good and the salary is usually above what the market pays. There are a lot of good things and my review just represents my personal experience.

Cons

Unfortunately, there’s a noticeable disconnect between upper management and on-the-ground reality. Strategic decisions often shift without proper context, and recognition tends to favor politics over performance. Some of the most effective contributors end up overlooked or pushed out due to internal dynamics. Cross-functional collaboration can also suffer due to unclear ownership, especially between Marketing and Product. This usually results in a very toxic environment for folks who find themselves in this situation. Leadership and Management seem to have no interest in solving the problem, most probably because - at this moment - they want to reduce the workforce without going through a new round of layoffs. And the ones on the top of the ladder are trying to save their own skin. There's no strategy and in some teams they make incentives to people to fight for their position at the company - which results in a culture of blame, finger pointing and where not to do is most of the time better than to do. The number of good leaders (some at C-Level) leaving the Company in the last 12 months is incredibly high. In 12 months I had 4 managers, I took the job of 4 people on my shoulders, got responsible for two engineer teams, results skyrocketing and a manager who I met 3 times and eventually got fired was able to say that my team didn't do it well enough - a review that after he left the Company was accepted as annual review by the CPO.

Pros

The only positive here was the people that I worked with,

Cons

The salary and OTE are a joke compared to other sales roles - not to mention OTE is nearly impossible to achieve. Revolving door culture, all they do is hire and fire. They'll put you on a PIP and tell you you have the 3 month quarter to improve but then fire you 30 days in for no good reason. You are just a number at this company, which is really unfortunate because it's a cool company that has a lot of potential to be a great place to work.

Pros

The people you get to work with on a daily basis. First Fridays off.

Cons

No accountability from leadership - Instead of taking accountability and forfeiting some of their own salaries for the leadership and strategic decisions they made, the CEO and C-suite instead laid off experienced and tenured employees to cut costs. Bad leadership decisions and strategy that shifts every 3-6 months. Hard to then get promoted with constant shifting priorities and goals. No accountability. Employee feedback on leadership and company strategy is not welcomed - After the latest employee survey results came out with comments that pointed out the constant shifts in strategy and questioning our strategy, the CPO said the strategy was correct and that the employees in the Product Org weren’t articulating their feedback and concerns correctly. Unclear company outlook - Leadership and directors regularly dispose of their own company stocks and stock has plummeted in recent years. This does not provide a positive outlook for the company.
