Pros

Salary if you negotiate well. They will low ball you so stand your ground on hourly rate. Don't add in benefits when you negotiate your rate. They may or may not be there later.

Cons

They nickle and dime the consultants. Taking away benefits that were offered during the hiring process. There is no respect for the consultants that work for them. All they care about is that you keep making them money. - Instead of upgrading the medical insurance to meet state standards they got an extension from the state. The cost of the policy is more then what you could find on your own with considerably less coverage. - Offered 1 week sick time but found out later they were not required to and took back any accrued sick time. - Offered 3.5% match and took that away. Note, they were making record profits but continue to find ways to short change the consultants.

Pros

- Currently on a 1 year contract with MIT Lincoln Laboratory, but the contract has been renewed for the past 9 years. - They are able to keep you employed.

Cons

- Management Team in the Boston Area does a lot of lip service for supporting individuals against the parent company (On Assignment) modifications to benefits - Parent company has slowly taken away benefits over the years (401k match reduced, health insurance premiums drastically increased, sick/leave time, 401K fees drastically increased) from contractors even though the stock price has tripled in the same time frame. - Communications from parent company are not filtered properly for MIT community of contractors
