Disagree with the Last Review about "Greed"

Pros

I like ECS. I like working here because the company we are building feels different - in a good way. We are trying to stand out from the competition AND be a good place for people to build a professional career. There really aren't a lot of places like that once a company starts to grow beyond a few hundred people. I think ECS is and will continue to be that kind of company. A recent review talked about "Greed" and a new corporate culture and executive that pushed out the former COO. That review sounds like someone who was a loyalist to the former COO. I can't blame them for that - he was a nice guy. He still is a nice guy. We (ECS) work with the company he heads up now on current and new business. I don't think we'd do that if he was a bad guy. Ultimately, in our business, Leaders matter. They set the vision and drive the train. Not everyone will agree with the vision or pace. Those that do, stay and grow. Those who don't, well they find something more amenable to their own tastes and perspective. I like and trust our leaders. I may not agree on everything they want to do or the pace they choose, but we're doing well as a company during a challenging time for our industry.

Cons

I don't have a "Con" to list - I am simply reacting to what I see as a negative slam on the company, our culture and leadership by a former employee. I think that post was an unfair assessment of ECS.

Textbook Example of What Greed Does to a Company

Pros

Was a good company for many years with a solid reputation of quality contracts for the Feds and also a good work culture. Had a good leader in the COO and the owner seemed to care about the employees as people rather than just something that either made him money or cost him money. Then, he hired a hot shot executive to grow the company and abrasively pushed out the COO. You know the story after that.

Cons

I have to say that the many of the reviews here that are over the top positive appear to all be written by the same person. Same language use, same style. That kind of thing would not be beyond the new ECS. The company President and the Owner set about getting rich and it all became about growing as fast as possible at any cost. Some people like that kind of environment - generally the ambitious and the sycophantic. So that's what it became and the people who liked the former leadership left over time and what is left are the mean and the stuck.

Good Company that is Growing

Pros

Good salaries and benefits. Flexible working like teleworking. Company does a lot to engage employees, example; various company lunch gatherings; support of employee and local non-profit organizations; and surveys to see how ECS management can make company better.

Cons

ECS is a government contracting company, the environment is always changing. Loss of contracts may mean loss of jobs.
