Pros

* In theory the mission statements sound great and it seems like a lot of thought was put into writing those. Its definitely something people can get behind. * There are some people that are great to work with. * There are lots of problems to be solved and much impact to be made in the dated voting/election sector. * On certain teams, you do get more opportunity to play with new technology, which can be double edge sword, see cons. * Unlimited PTO (you can/should take > 1 month if you play your cards right) * Base salary used to be really good before they got a CFO and realized their burn rate.

Cons

* Mission statements quickly become "nice-to-haves" when push comes to pull and you've been sitting idle on a contract for almost a year because you pulled everyone in a hail mary to chase another contract with little chance of winning. * There are some people that are not so great to work with. * Management thinks all their problems and delays can be solved by hiring more people and Brooks Law again gets ignored. * No formal review process which means annual raises are rare. Instead of giving raises to keep you happy or at market value they wait until you have another job offer and wait for the day you are suppose to leave before they will take action. * No 401k Match, the available funds have high fees (ER > 1.5%) * There is lots of red tape and even legislation that keep this industry dated and on the same inefficient workflow. The major client is government, they have no desire to change, be cutting edge or efficient. * Unfortunately Everyone Counts does not have enough of a presence to actually disrupt and change the industry, so there are a lot of requirements that dictate the same ole way of doing things, business as usual. * There is no oversight of the tech leads/teams which is apparent when you see the barrage of different technologies and frameworks. This is a perl, java, c#, javascript, angular, react, loopback, express, node, koa, mysql, mariadb, mongodb, couchdb - shop. Again if you like playing with new tech this is great, but others might say it's spreading things a bit thin. * No one is really concentrating on security or standards, which is truly amazing and unfortunate given the sector. In my time here, there have been new industry formed groups and councils established and already paving the way for this sector, if you want to modernize elections speak up, participate and help shape it. * You have to manually log hours on a daily basis. * Some teams have roll call in the morning where the manager will wait by the elevator to see who is 5min late, other teams roll in sporadically throughout the day.

Pros

Salaries are competitive but the benefits are very sub-par. The views from the office are great but the internal environment is lackluster and 3rd world.

Cons

Clueless Sr. "leadership" - they don't understand what it takes to run a professional production shop. Always shortchanging and starving IT. Complete lack of documentation and process. Sour attitudes are allowed to fester; gossip reigns supreme. Communications is very poor from Upper Mgmt. - no information is cascaded to the lower echelons.

Pros

Great people, great environment to work in. Company feed the employees literally theres free food in the kitchen. Great PTO policy. 401k Salary is great If you stay late they care about you and order food and check for your needs. New technologies (unlike the bad reviews say), NodeJS, Angular, Javascript ES6, MongoDB, none of the tech i mentioned is old or deprecated, just google it :)

Cons

Management should consider in his plans having some roadblocks, i always see issues on any company (even big company thousands of employees i used to work) the roadblocks should be considered as well o the estimations. Other than that i believe this is a great place to work, great people and great vibes
