Pros

Exelon is huge, with incredible resources at it's disposal. The benefits package is pretty damn good. The flexible work schedule is great. The pay is actually decent, even if it feels a bit low in an Oil Business town like Houston.

Cons

Various business units go through cycles of growth and "optimization." Some years, you're overworked because you're migrating systems due to an acquisition. Others, you're overworked because "optimization and efficiency" measures have decimated the contractor workforce.

Pros

Good Benefits, upward mobility. Good salary. Long hours (Shift work). Lots of politics, but that is due to being nuclear.

Cons

In New York State. Can't stand the politics or the taxes. Don't go to Oswego NY unless you really like the cold and snow.

some pro-family benefits some great coworkers

Cons

They think they own you. You can work like a dog and still be making 1/3 of what the managers are making. Incompetence is rewarded, you just need to know the right people.
