Pros

Historically provides better benefits comparing to other companies, delivery division is strong and continuous to explore acquisitions, developing new distributed markets.

Cons

Has the biggest nuclear fleet in the country, which was the money maker in the companies for decades, but can no longer compete with the low price of material gas. Many address in the company is shrinking, especially in nuclear and corporate functions.

Pros

Salary and Benefits: The nuclear industry pays extremely well with performance bonuses, annual pay raises, and overtime/outage pay. Discounted stock purchase and good 401k matching. There are also fitness and health reimbursements available. Coworkers: Smart, talented, hardworking people. Good mix of people, from the Shop workers to the Operators and Engineers. White/blue collar mix. Casual dress/work environment. Interesting Work: Unique industry. Very technically involved.

Cons

Workload: Salaried for 40 hours a week, but a more realistic number is 50-60. Managers typically have 10 hour days that may limit employee oversight. Additional Duty: Responsible for standing emergency response teams that limit your weekend activities (no drinking, travel limitations). Outage coverage means 12hr shiftwork for ~1 month per year. Regulation: If you want to "change the world" then you need to work for Elon Musk. The NRC and government regulates everything in the nuke power industry. Conservative thinking and risk management are mandatory cultural adaptations.
