Pros

Exelon has provided so many outstanding opportunities for me to develop professionally. I am consistently given new and interesting projects to work on – which has not only aided in my development, it has also made my 5+ years at Exelon very exciting and interesting.

Cons

The overall work environment is fairly demanding, which can sometimes lead to long hours. However, my management is extremely understanding and supportive. As we go through each of our more challenging parts of the year, we are encouraged to take time off and/or work from home when possible.

Office Politics run amok

Pros

Benefits are very good and pay is above average

Cons

Office politics are very big here and your career advancement is dependent on you getting into the right circle. Your opportunities for promotion as well as your annual bonus is very dependent on you kissing up and knowing the right people. Backstabbing and gossiping were rampant during the time there and it felt like a high school hallway at times. Favoritism runs its ugly head in terms of promotions and merit increases.
