Pros
I started off with no experience in IT of any sort, only the drive to learn and establish a career for myself. When I came in for an interview, I did not expect to even get the job because of this, but I was shocked to find out I was going to get a chance. I learned from some great minds here and continue to learn, not just in programming, but in all aspects of business. The owners are working every day just like us, so you can see the drive and the results of hard work and dedication every day. It is as if I am in college and I am getting paid for my continued learning, I could not see myself working any where else because there is so much to learn! I have never experienced anything like that before, but I was in store for a big challenge. It is a small but growing company, so you have to be a self starter and able to learn on your own. Since I have been employed, we have more than doubled in size, so there is definitely room for growth. They love bringing in inexperienced employees and molding them into great developers, some of my fellow employees have came here and are corner stones of the company now after years of perfecting their craft. If you are willing to learn and are up to the challenge of making deadlines and putting out quality product, this is the place for you. This job changed my life for the better and all I want to do now is spread the word that it is possible for you too.
Cons
Cons!? I would say the only con that I saw when I started is there wasn't a clear training program. Since then (not even a year later), the company has put team leads in place and we now have more employees that can assist with learning efforts. However, don't expect to come in have everything handed to you, you will still have to put in the work on your own to learn our company's platform and coding practices. It takes hard work to get up to speed in some cases, with others they have jumped right in and started billing right off the bat. I have seen it happen personally, so I know it is possible. It all depends on your drive, dedication and work ethic. If you are a B Team player, please do not waste your time. I take pride in my work and have seen some come and go, the ones who go could not handle it or lacked the motivation to try. If you stick around however, you will have a great career with owners and fellow employees who love coming to work everyday and being successful.
