Pros

-Insurance benefits were good - full premiums paid by employer -Free bus pass -Promotions from within give one a decent chance to move forward career-wise

Cons

-strict dress code -more concern paid to appearances than to quality of work or project strategies -some middle management express disdain for staff behind closed doors -extremely difficult to move projects forward, must be approved by committee before a project can be worked on and by the time it's approved, the scheduled end time has not changed leaving little time to complete work -Promoting from within is a double-edged sword. Many have never worked in a corporate environment besides at Expeditors, leaving them with little real-world experience regarding other ways to get things done. -Low salary often with several years without raises, supposedly made up for by bonuses, but barely brings you to market level -supervisors are put under tons of pressure to not only manage their team but to also develop at the same time with little incentive to do so -vacation policy is weak and there is absolutely no flexibility on the policy -they may never lay people off, but if they want someone to leave, they will do their best to torment the employee until they leave on their own so they can avoid paying unemployment. -middle management seems less interested in doing what is best for the company and internal customers and more interested in maintaining fiefdoms. -way too many meetings that are utterly unproductive.

Pros

A company sitting in a great position to harness an increasingly connected world to grow their business.

Cons

Draconian in-office work policy (26 remote days a year begrudgingly provided) and business formal dress code including for non-client-facing roles, minimal vacation (3 weeks and no closures between Xmas and NYE, no rollover) and 401k offerings that both assume you should earn your keep by staying at the company for 10+ years which is totally unrealistic for most young people’s careers these days. ZERO parental or maternity leave, good luck if you’re having a baby and working here.

Pros

The no layoff policy was a godsend during the pandemic. There benefit package is decent.

Cons

The pandemic has really highlighted how far behind the times we are as a company. For all the talk about how superior our technology is, and what incredible assets the employees are, upper management refuses to use that technology to make their "greatest assets" happy with flexible work from home options.
