Pros

Being my first job out of college, it helped me avoid many of the career pitfalls that I might have experienced later...because I went through them first at Expeditors.

Cons

From a clinical point of view, it's a pretty efficient model: Take smart, motivated young people. Fill them with promises of career advancement so that they'll work extremely hard and long hours (often illegally off the clock), pay them well below industry standard and then promote the very few based on favoritism...unconnected with their actual abilities. Truly the worst work experience of my life.

Pros

There is job stability and excellent medical benefits- but thats it.

Cons

Expeditors loves proclaiming top-notch 'professionalism' in the industry, but somehow manage to promote idiots with barely a high school education to supervisor/management positions. EI LAX is capitalism at its finest- why hire more people when 1 slave can do the job of 3? No rasies or bonuses are given to non-mangement employees, although the $$$$ is there. Ridiculous expectations from low-level management towards employees. No Human Resources Dept. HIGHLY STRESSFUL WORK ENVIRONMENT.

Pros

- great prime time location in downtown seattle - free bus pass - medical package - ESPP - most of the people are great

Cons

- no room for growth - nepotism - too conservative - senior management is unreasonable with personal requests - maternity leave is too short - low balls pay - integrity is not observed here when people play blame games - some mid management micro-manage and could take a management class on how to work with employees - too many rules here, it seems that people have to watch their backs with what they do
