Pros

-Taking a chance on me when I finished school. -Work life balance pretty good. -corporate world experience -commission plus base cool...but please read the con for the string attached

Cons

-Training took 2 weeks (not a hard job) but manager claims it's a 5 year process.... So no 25¢ raise even 8 months in. ( he really said this) -Also commission should go up that's how it works well in this branch, manger gives you the newest accounts even telling me it's an up hill battle.... So ok wait not only no raise but -No growth in commission or pay regardless of growth is job responsibilities. - I was 10 months in the job and I was assigned to train the new girl. 5 others who had been there for 5+ years didn't, the team didn't and the manager didn't. And still no bump in pay. new girl is smart and said this is fishy and already wants to leave because the manager is sketchy. -as a young employee with older staff members I didn't have a lot to talk about. I don't have kids or I don't get certain references to the 80s jokes that's fine but because I don't talk. The other employees started talking behind my back and I actually saw an email they said this to the new hire. "Isn't he argent and an spoiled brat?"( I talked about how my parents let me use their car for work) - and boss encouraged the talks I mean come on HR!!!! -You then find out that older staff gets all the easy payoff jobs you get 1-2 here and there to "balance it out"....Not even. Ok well you work hard prove that the 1-2 bones you can kick but and fill them. Well now you solely do new accounts.....good luck. -Management puts little to no effort into retaining, motivating, new younger staff. Primarily supported older team (of 5) - When you do leave, manager doesn't in trouble because he gave you bad accounts to make your numbers look like it's your fault ! -Boss asked me take on a bad contract to save his older staff's numbers and I did it because I was trying to prove myself but it did not pan out well. - when giving my Two Weeks notice, my boss was furious and called me names, questioned my loyalty and work ethic and called me a lot of names.... I Didn't have to give a two weeks but I did because it was the right thing to do but man that was rough.

Pros

1 star because the base pay is okay - $40,000 but that is generally the only positive about the role. Jonas (the CEO) is nice and friendly but this department is not treated like the rest of Experis (Manpower) and I am not even sure he understands the working conditions. For example, for Memorial day 99% of department left at 3pm but Core was not allowed to leave until 4:15pm.

Cons

As the Director openly stated they look for "poor, hungry people" so they can lock them in knowing that they will struggle to find a job elsewhere. Most of the people coming on are college students who are unable to find a job elsewhere with the degree they studied for. You see college students with marketing, psychology degrees pretending that they are really happy to land this job There is an Us vs Them mentality from management and they treat the new recruiters like kids. A few people will have been 'promoted' to team leads even though they have shown no aptitude to lead. A few of the people who have left have noted that they did not receive outstanding commission due. You get paid 30days after the placement starts - another measure intended to keep people to stay. My advice is please do not get caught up in this trap. They entice you with the base salary and then expect to own every single area of your life. The recruiting industry as a whole is despised, once you stay for more than a while your career options will be extremely limited. If you do need a job and are desperate, I would recommend going with another recruiting company where the staff aren't quitting by the dozens every month. There are so many more things which I could pinpoint but I don't want to exhaust anymore effort with this company (I will be leaving very soon)

Pros

I gained lots of valuable experience from Experis. You get to learn how to interview people, wage negotiation, working with 3rd party vendors, and learn new software. I believe it is a great entry-level professional position.

Cons

You have to thrive a high volume call center/sales atmosphere or else you will not like this job. Work life balance could be better. They want you available to candidates at all times of the day, night, and weekends.
