Pros
pay is a fair amount above average, PTO is excellent, unlimited sick time, 12 company holidays, health insurance is actually pretty decent, good 401k match, etc etc etc. You do get to work with cutting edge technology, which is kinda cool and you WILL learn just from being immersed in so much new and complex tech there are smart people here, like seriously, phd's, md's, physicists, etc
Cons
every single pro is also a con here: pay is a fair amount above average, PTO is excellent, unlimited sick time, 12 company holidays, health insurance is actually pretty decent, good 401k match, etc etc etc. -- CON because not many other companies are going to be able to compete with this - so prepare to take a paycut and/or benefits cut when, not if, when you decide you've had enough. And you will, it is unbearable 3 days out of the week at minimum. (as an aside, this is exactly why I am still here. Nowhere better to go at this moment in time bc of the aforementioned benefits. I'm not about to take a 10k or more paycut) You do get to work with cutting edge technology, which is kinda cool and you WILL learn just from being immersed in so much new and complex tech -- CON you never get to actually LEARN anything with any depth at all since they keep changing the tech stack so fast. Often bc some engineer wants to play science experiment so they build it halfway, until they get bored, don't document it, put it into production, then play dumb when asked about it - or worse, crickets in the slack channel... there are smart people here, like seriously, phd's, md's, physicists, etc. CON -- Almost all are overstuffed and egotistical. also more cons --- hipsters. 'nuff said. to quote colonel sanders "They've gone to plaid!" 'agile.' seriously what even is that? No one knows what agile is, so it can be anything anyone wants whenever it's convenient. annoying as all get out. I've seen the stupid daily standups. i have to be in these wastes of time. It's nothing more than a chance to hear yourself talk. oh yeah and working your butt off for little to no recognition, and then having to watch the entirely-too-large rank of directors congratulate eachother at all hands meetings.
