Pros
- Salaries seem to be inline. I would say good. - Knowledgeable group of people. Willing to help and share info. Overall, very good atmosphere of people. Nice, friendly, and helpful. - Nice facilities - Plenty of hardware. - always using New or new-ish equipment. - First level management is very engineering centric. Easy to work for. - Company does well financially. No layoffs ! I think a lot of people say there is a time clock ... I never saw that. I was able to come in around 8, leave for lunch around 11.30 and leave at 5pm-ish.
Cons
- Software is a bit behind. - The product is a bit boring. It uses Linux , which is good, but overall the product is not very interesting ( or at least to me ) - Use of legacy code and maintenance of it. ( I was working on their string based protocol, which was very 1980's ) - Avg age of engineers is very high, everyone is a "Senior" - Very little diversity (no female engineers when I worked there) - Set hours the place is open. Everyone has to be out of the building by 6.30pm ... Could be an advantage. - Unwilling to share in the profits or give out stock options. - No work from home. - Weird about hours you are there, although they don't want you to work more than 40 hours, so that is good in many regards. - Very "blue collar" mentality towards all workers. Again, just a tad weird in some regards. - No chance to advance - Benefit package is below avg.
