Pros

-Aside from management most of the employees are friendly and helpful. Having good coworkers was the primary reason I did not leave the company sooner. -Opportunity to learn new skills exists but you have to be very proactive about seizing it as there is no system in place to support career growth.

Cons

-Unfortunately the lower score reviews paint a more accurate picture of the company's overall situation and management. -Due to lack of a proper performance review structure pay raises are rare, small, and often include significantly increased work responsibilities. Never saw an increase in other benefits such as vacation days even after years. -Management has a significant lack of experience due to being comprised of the founder's family rather than skilled personnel hired based on merit. This is a large contributor to many of the other issues listed in this and other reviews. -Management promoted a culture making sure the blame for a failure of the business did not fall on you slowing down process assessment and improvement. This issue was improving slightly at the tail end of my time with the company. -Management decisions were often emotionally driven and erratic. Prominent examples were the multiple instances of the firing of staff as scapegoats after the negative consequences of management's poor decisions set in. This led to significant brain drain and increased workload for those left in impacted departments and the churn prevented development of skilled individuals tailored to the company's needs. -Management had a habit of insinuating employees were expendable and easy to replace. One particular leader often spoke about how much better he could do the jobs of those he oversaw even going so far as to accuse them of laziness and intentionally working in a manner in order to avoid as much work as possible. -The sales department was prioritized above all others. Any department not seen as bringing in money was treated very differently by management. -Lack of stability in processes. Constant changes, sometimes going back to practices that were ended at management's instruction years ago, at management's demand led to lack of strong best practices being developed. Towards the end of my time at the company a process improvement system was employed to mixed results and many processes in a seemingly constant state of flux did appear to be getting stabler.

Pros

Some of the people are nice. You get snacks once every couple of months that lasts a couple days before people hoard them all. You get breakfast on Friday's if you come early enough because people are selfish savages.

Cons

They micromanage you, depending on the department that you're in. The VP LOVES to watch the cameras and watch people work. They expect the salary employees to stay for 8 hours a day even if there's nothing to do, meanwhile the hourly employees will get paid for 8 hours even when they come in late, leave early and take long breaks. The director of sales and director of business development LOVES to fight and bicker causing an uncomfortable work environment. The Director of BD and VP both love to talk down on people because they think that they know everything and everyone who works there are idiots. Upper management expects way too much from people but don't want to pay them because it's "their job".

Getting good

Pros

- Good changes are happening. Processes are being implemented and reviewed for the better. More consistency so far. - Team members are great. Having regular team outings is invaluable and while it is nothing fancy, having a chance to unwind with each other is fun (bowling and golfing are a good start) - Management seems to be coming around. Seems like there is more freedom to give input and feedback and it is being listened to and heard

Cons

- Old mindset is hard to change, and sometimes it takes longer than what is needed to do something. - Lots of work still. Hopefully, this will get better with the process changes, but very busy overall. Being incentive based makes things more clear as I am in control of my own destiny, but the work is real. Luckily, no overtime required, but alas, that incentive can be quite tempting.....
