It is a great company to work for if you are outspoken, willing tow the line (regardless of your own beliefs and principles) and willing to put in extra hours. The company rewards hard work and people who puts themselves out there.

Cons

XOM practices force ranking and the assessment is often subjective. If you are technically capable but quiet in nature, it is hard for you to do well. The management also practice favoritism. I have seen many cases where a manager misbehaves but it is protected because their manager needs to save face to protect themselves for having promoting this person.
