      Pros

      Very high standard of staff. Very good policies and business controls. Plenty of scope for travel Share sceheme and pension (UK) are good.

      Cons

      Okay if you just want a job but there is limited career opportunity and you have no control over your next assignment. It is all decided for you behind closed doors. Can be a stressful place to work (very political).

      Pros

      Great exposure to all aspects of business and there are some very clever, experienced people to work with and learn from at XOM. Share Scheme and pension are good. Base pay is in the upper third area. They are a very ethical company. A great company to buy shares in but the going can be tough for the staff - the organization is constantly changing and the opportunities in Europe are limiting as the company continually reduces headcount.

      Cons

      It has a very strong emphasis for internal controls and safety; sometimes it seems OTT. This may not suit everyone; entrepreneurial spirit it not really required in this highly developed, 'heavily controlled' organization. I don't think they really trust their staff. Some top mgt can be overbearing - almost bullyish.
