Pros

We have so much time off because we need it. The company expects a lot. The harder you work the more they expect. They do treat us very well. Hard work, being safe and positivity are important in order to survive in the work place.

Cons

Do not stray from status quo.

Pros

Stable, consistent employer with a long-term business focus. Re-emphasizing US Gulf Coast growth, especially in commodity petrochemicals. Personnel and operations safety is highly emphasized.

Cons

Rating and ranking system is extremely opaque and arbitrary. No clear way to self-direct career path, especially in the engineering specialist disciplines. No 9/80 schedule option.

Pros

Relatively good pay for internships locally. Great opportunity to learn about downstream refining processes and learning how to use software and tools to optimize setups

Cons

Location is extremely far and time consuming to get to. Company has quite a lot of red tape, probably since the occurrence of the Valdez incident. Took me about 4 hours to travel each day!
