Pros

-No degree or certification needed(the only that is is gained during training) for a possible career in the healthcare industry -Helping people -Half Price Glasses -No Drug Test(Though this probably breaks laws regarding the medical industry's federal funding)

Cons

-Overworked -Underpaid. Starting at $12 with a promise of fulfillment-based bonuses that was never once reached. The reason being that they intentionally understaffed and overloaded their employees with work as well as firing/forcing people to quit so production always falls behind, almost like they don't want you to reach the bonus. -Vice President at the time came to lab and when confronted with OSHA related protocols she said it did not matter and proceeded to breach OSHA -Hostile work environment, a bigoted employee who had been reported to management several times, including making an offensive remark while the district lab manager and vice president were in the room and assaulting me by pushing my hand into a lens cutting machine causing profuse bleeding and despite contacting management nothing came of it until contacting HR, and even after that they refused to press charges, only telling me "Hey be careful, she seemed very vengeful" -Manager openly admitted to drinking on the job(Also acting as the lead optician, a job where a mess up can cause a death) -When management was fired and the other manager quit due to overworking I was made acting manager despite less than one year of experience and I received no compensation for the increased workload -District Lab Manager(who also quit) witnessed me receive a large electric shock while repairing a machine and he did not instruct me on the proper lockout protocol despite watching the entire process and did not file an injury report -Unsanitary working environment -Punishment/Intense social disdain for calling in -Lack of state licensed opticians/opticians with open apprentice slots so the entire store would crawl to a halt due to 2-3 people having to maintain dozens, sometimes a hundred, patients a day -Poor ventilation/no provided PPE despite being in the presence of toxic substances. -Outdated, last legs machinery that would constantly error, slowing productivity at the expense of the employees. -Decades long career opticians and optical techs would quit within a few months due to the terrible working conditions
