Pros

Good technology and great coworkers to work with. Great benefits as well.

Cons

Executives do NOT have a plan of developing HW. Product Development department has lost lots of talents since last year, and they’re very important talents, architect, Sr director, principal etc, and still keep losing people. There are several reasons: Executive team keeps cutting HW budget, HW engineers are not treated well (in terms of raise, RSUs). There’s no clear future HW roadmap, executives just want to make Wall Street happy, focus on SW, no HW investment. Ironically this company is surviving just because of HW chassis.

Pros

- Because it is a mid-sized company, there isn't a lot of red tape or processes to adhere to. - Things that took years at my previous company take a matter of weeks. When you have no barriers or lack of buy-in to slow you down, you can easily move at warp speed. The only challenge becomes prioritizing and sequencing. - I used to use the words "kind" and "nice" interchangeably. Coming to F5, I see the difference. Anyone can be nice on the surface, but not everyone can be kind. Kind is inherent and I see a genuine kindness to almost everyone I have come in contact with at F5. - There is definitely a focus on inclusion and I appreciate that the company is moving in the right direction. Seems to have authentic buy-in at the top. I started a year ago and have seen the following that supports an inclusive workplace: 1) unconscious bias and inclusive leadership training 2) launched the F5 behaviors that includes making a more diverse and inclusive F5. And these are not just behaviors they talk about, but they are also on performance reviews and recognized in our employee recognition program. 3) freedom to flex...a program that promotes flexible work schedules 4) expanding recruting efforts to a more diverse talent pool 5) increased commitment to corporate giving and volunteering 6) putting 'Belonging' on the company scorecard and taking action to improve our sense of belonging. The negative comments on this site are not wide spread issues. I am not discounting the comments. I am just saying that has not been my experience. - It's an exciting time to be at F5 as it goes through a very cool, much needed transformation. The acquisition of NGINX will propel us forward far more quickly than we could have done it by ourselves. We are on the cutting edge of something awesome!

Cons

- Not enough processes. They operate as if they are a small start up and they would benefit greatly from creating processes. - Needs more collaboration amongst employees/departments. A lot of silos and duplication of efforts.
