Pros

The company has a really good training programme, They will teach you a lot and give you the skills you need to land a well paying job. They put you working with clients such as Bank of Ireland and Citygroup

Cons

Their courses are extremely intense. You will be working overtime during training and won't get paid for it. You could be doing up to 4 hours overtime each day. The salary is very poor, 20k per annum during training, 29k per annum during your first year after training, 32k per annum during your second year. Training typically takes about 10 weeks.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you've benefited from our connections. We strive to place consultants in companies that are the right fit for them, to ensure that all our consultants start their career journeys successfully. We also offer opportunities for promotion and salary increases after the initial two years in the FDM Graduate Programme as a third-year Consultant. Pros

There is some potential (heavy emphasis on some here) to get a placement with a large company. If you do not come from a technical background, the training almost seems decent as a whole

Cons

Firstly, you only receive 5 weeks of tailored data engineering training - the rest is consistent with all other technical streams. This is a problem as the week on CSS/HTML was completely pointless and has no use for a data engineer. The training at time can be absolutely awful and is seriously lacking in quantity. You could honestly do better by just doing online courses on Udemy. I heard from other cohorts who trained entirely remotely during COVID that FDM did not even pay the licenses for software. They actually had to train using the free-trial versions of software, which is just ridiculous. The prospect of a placement within Data Engineering and Data Science is very slim. I was fortunate enough to get placed however, I have heard that no one has been placed within a stream-relevant job. The massively inflated training fees..... Ultimately, I would not recommend the Data Engineering stream at FDM - opt for something else that has higher employment rates.
