Pros

I trained in the Austin office. FDM provides you with about 15 weeks of Training in the Java stream. The material is covered quick, but I never felt like I was falling behind. You get training that will prepare you for your role with a client. They cover a lot of topics that you might not use in your placement, but they offer specialized training if you need it like if you were placed in a c# role your training would switch to that. They prepare you for interviews and help you get placed in a role on site with big clients. Good way to get that first two years of experience.

Cons

You have to be geoflexible. You will be told to go on interviews and if they like you, they get you. So you might be moving to New York or San Francisco without your pay adjusting to cost of living in these areas. It can be daunting, but roommates help. The pay isn’t that great in general, but it really seems to be about getting that 2 years of experience under your belt.

Pros

- connections to blue chip companies - placed in a role that I would have never had the chance to have otherwise (non-computer science degree, only one summer internship)

Cons

- depending on what role you are going into (ie: software development) you are paid on the lower end of the average pay scale for the field. - training was intense, and moved VERY fast

Pros

If you get a good placement, you will get great experience and possibly a permanent position at a reputable company.

Cons

This company preys on students out of college without any offers lined up. Only apply here if this your ABSOLUTE last resort. The 12 week training session is a joke and you have a 2 week grace period to leave after you sign the 2 year contract. If you dont get placed after training you just sit in the office all day doing nothing barely making minimum wage. The payroll team is incompetent and constantly make payroll errors.
