Know what you're getting into

Pros

The fact is, at FDM you're going to get a job at one of their clients. That is the ONLY pro this place offers you. If you, for whatever reason, don't feel like you can apply for a similar role at one of these clients, then FDM can help you achieve that. Oh, and the salary is comparatively higher than most graduate trainee jobs available in Hong kong.

Cons

Note that you do not get any say in what client you are placed into. Remember this very carefully, that it is in their incentive to place you WHEREVER AND HOWEVER THEY CAN. They don't really care if you don't like the job or if its a dead end for your career. If you fit the client's requirements and get the nod from the client, then FDM will place you there, whatever your misgivings. Another thing to note is that while FDM claims they will train you, the reality is eight to twelve weeks of training isn't enough to homogenize a whole group of people. Trainees have their own skills, strength and weaknesses and job experiences, and those juicy placements at the big banks (Morgan Stanley is a favorite) that they dangle before prospective trainees? Its for people who could've gotten into these places anyhow by themselves but somehow ended up in FDM's court. The rest of you, feel free to dig through the client list at FDM.

Pros

Great Instructors who are available if you want to reach out and some of them are very knowledgeable and helpful. The Company has a very good connection with some excellent Clients so initial placements are your stepping stone to the industry if you have no other choice or options. Fast Paced learning period which helps speed up things a little.

Cons

Once you are placed, Feels like Company does not care at all. No help/incentives for receiving extra certs. Much Lower pay than what you would get from other places. ZERO involvement once your contract is over. Paycheck is never straightforward due to the bonus structure.
