Pros

- Get you opportunities in roles that companies don't hire directly for. - These opportunities may allow you to then get employed by the client after two years as a contractor and in many cases these are well-paying secure jobs as FDM has mostly large established companies as clients. - FDM kind of act like your own personal recruiter in case your placement ends, while you get paid a constant salary.

Cons

- You might get placed on assignments that don't have much to do with what you trained in (more so for trainees in the Business programmes like PMO and Business Analysis, but also happens with people in technical operations, Business Intelligence) or that aren't very promising in general. - Generally there is significant uncertainty on whether you will get a permanent job offer from the client (that's why they use companies like FDM). - If you get let go of your current client, there's uncertainty on what your next placement will be but at least they will look to get you one. - You can plausibly spend two years in placements that don't further your career very much (but then again you might get placements that further your career quite a lot).
